A livestream where every tagged moment is one click from a clip

A livestream and analysis system for a county GAA setup: the match broadcasts through Mux, events tagged on the iPad app list beside it in real time, any event jumps to its second in the video, and any moment downloads as a clip.

The approach

County analysis moves at the speed of the game. An analyst tagging events on the Performa iPad app cannot wait for the stream to end and then scrub an hour of footage to find the three moments that matter. By then the team meeting is over.

So we built the stream and the analysis into one screen. The match broadcasts through Mux, with SRT and RTMP ingest links the broadcaster can reset themselves. Beside the video, every event tagged on the iPad app appears the moment it happens, carried live from the app into a Webflow CMS collection the site reads in real time, the same kind of always-on connection we built for the platform’s Google Sheets tool.

Click any event and the player jumps to that exact second. A broadcast starts before the whistle does, so first-half and second-half offset buttons keep the data and the video perfectly in step. And any event can be pulled out as a downloadable clip: pre and post roll fields decide where each clip starts and ends, so what reaches the review room is the moment itself, nothing else.

Our client is Performa Sports. The system runs on their platform, and it is their API that puts it to work for Offaly GAA, where a county board’s analysts use it through the season. The platform and the iPad app remain theirs; the livestream machinery, the live data bridge and the clipping tool are our engineering. The screen above is the live console our analysts work in: it sits behind the team’s login, shown here in its pre-match state, waiting for the encoder to go live.

It is kept honest in production. When Offaly’s analysts found that the offsets stopped applying once a stream had ended, the fix shipped the same day.
